Welcome
Nurture ~ Inspire ~ Flourish

Rathcoole Primary School and Nursery Unit is more than just a school.
It is a warm, family-focused community where every child is nurtured, supported, and inspired to thrive. We believe in fostering positive relationships, embracing inclusivity, and creating joyful learning experiences that encourage resilience, kindness, and a lifelong love of learning.
As a Nurture School, we believe that every child matters. The Nurture Principles underpin all that we do, with relationships at the core.
We have had many of our achievements recognised, such as, Nurture Award, Outdoor Play, Forest Schools, Active Travel, Rights Respecting Schools and the Pearson National Teaching Silver Award.
We are immensely proud of our school facilities and have an extensive range of provision to offer, such as
- Nursery pre-school provision with 2 full time classes
- Two Social and Communiciation Classrooms (Sunflower Room and Willow Room)
- Nurture Class (Oak Room)
- A vast forest school area including an outdoor classroom and polytunnel
- Large outdoor play areas featuring a trim trail
- Holistic provision specifically for Foundation & Key Stage One, including smaller quad play and sensory areas
- A stimulating sensory room with state-of-the-art equipment and a Rainbow gym room for sensory output
- Calm areas throughout the school to promote self-regulation
- A range of after-school clubs such as Cookery, Lego club, Calm club, Just Dance and Movie club
- ICT and music suites where we use interactive programmes such as Lexia, Charanga, Isak9 and more!
Our well-experienced staff are trained to support our pupils in all aspects of learning and the curriculum, including special educational needs, speech and language difficulties, forest school, nurture, trauma-informed practice and much more!
Our children and families are amazing! We firmly believe that work and support between home and school is essential, in order to help children be the best that they can be.
