  • Parents Support TOPS Rathcoole to make Outdoor Play a priority

    Thu 08 Dec 2016

All parents were invited to attend a Parents Introduction Session with Shauneen from Playboard NI on how we can improve the provision and quality of play in Rathcoole Primary School and Nursery Unit.  We had a really great turn out.

Shauneen spoke about some of the challenges that children nowadays face and the differences in play that we had.

Parents volunteered their help to be part of the parent working group to make these changes happen.

We look forward to an exciting year in January 2017.

If anyone is interested in being a part of this support group please do not hesitate in getting in touch.

  • ATTENDANCE MATTERS BECAUSE EDUCATION MATTERS!

    Thu 08 Dec 2016

95% attendance is 9 days learning missed.

    90% attendance is 19 days learning missed – that’s nearly 4 weeks.

Give your child the best start in life – every school day counts.

You can demonstrate your commitment to your child’s education by not taking holidays during term time. Any child or young person who is absent from school due to a holiday will miss out on important learning and will fall behind with their school work.

In each Academic Year there are only a maximum of 190 statutory school days – this allows plenty of time for holidays to be arranged outside term time.

Holidays taken during term time will be categorised as an unauthorised absence.
