  • Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2021

    Tue 22 Dec 2020

    Dear families

As we end school today I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

We have never had a year like it.  We know that many of our staff and families and friends have lost many loved ones over the course of the pandemic.  We know that many of you have been affected by COVID and what it meant for our 'normal' lives.  I can only commend the support that staff, Governors and families have given to the Rathcoole PS and NU family.  I have been truly overwhelmed.  Your children are amazing and have helped each and every one of us make each day special through this term.  Thank you for helping keep our school community safe, following the social distancing and wearing masks and all the other measures that we have had to implement.
Christmas will be different for us all this year.  Look out for each other.  Check in on your neighbours, friends and family.  Keep safe.
We look forward to welcoming you all back safely on 6th January 2021.

Don't forget the online calendar is with us right up to Christmas Eve - with a special peek on Mrs Quinn, getting ready for Santa.

  • Thank you to Dunelm Mill

    Fri 18 Dec 2020

    Thank you Dunelm!

We would like to pass on our HUGE thanks to Dunelm Mill who donated the gifts to P1-P7 who were in school today.
They have been busy wrapping and ensuring that every child received a gift - it was really from Santa as he couldn't come into school due to COVID.

Please, if you are in the shop at any stage, pass on a huge thank you to the staff there for their hard work and support to their local community primary school.

Have a lovely weekend and see you all on Monday.
Remember Monday and Tuesday we finish at 11.30am
     - classes will be staggered coming out, so please be patient.

Have a wonderful weekend - don't forget to keep checking the school advent calendar online!

  • It's that time of year again....

    Wed 16 Dec 2020

    OH YES IT IS!!!

    Wednesday 16th December 2020

Dear families - what a year it has been and what an amazing month of celebration we have had with our Advent Calendar, Virtual Elf Visit and now.....we have our pantomime (courtesy of the PTFA in school)
Tomorrow will be a day of fun.
Please bring along a bag of treats (no nuts please) and a drink for the show (socially distanced in classrooms via the power of technology)
Please put the treats in a separate labelled bag with your child's name on it and the class teacher will  keep them safe until show time.

All being well it is dry tomorrow, we might also be outdoors - so please wear something warm and waterproof.  If it is really horrendous then we will reschedule our outdoor plans. (It's a secret!!)

Don't forget that the online calendar is with us right up to Christmas Eve - we don't stop just  because school is off!
We still have some treats in store for you all.

In the meantime, keep smiling, keep positive and keep safe!
